Actors HIIT
Actors HIIT is a culmination of over ten years of teaching and training actors, coaching and guiding actors through self tapes and castings, learning from their and my own successes and having parts go ‘the other way’. Over the years I have noticed common (and not so common) traits and ‘don’t’s’ that actors fall into and repeat. Subtle and not so. Stifling and hindering their chances and abilities to book the part and bring their full repertoire, depth and power to roles they are playing at any time. Many also don’t know what their strengths are!
Actors HIIT caters to all disciplines and crafts required of the actor from receiving the breakdown to cast, to the art of the playing of the role. While our primary focus is to leave no stone unturned when it comes to preparing a casting or playing a part, Actors HIIT, aims to create a family of professional, hard working actors that have each others backs when it comes to the (I was going to say demands) opportunities our industry presents.

Scene Stretches
If you haven’t chosen one for yourself from an actual casting or otherwise, your scene will have been given to you 2-3 days in advance, matching average conditions for screen castings in the UK. You will learn your lines. In class you will work with the actor playing the other part in your scene or a designated reader. From here we will be bringing the beats, nuances and geography the scenes needs to life, while adding the colours from your own uniqueness to the role.

Scene Stretches session: £60

Tape Punching
Shot on a canon C300, we will shoot your prepared scene from the day before, or one you come in with that you’ve worked on privately, in a self tape set up with your scene partner from the day before or one chosen on the day. You will have a designated time slot. We will go for as long as you want or need within your slot, receiving direction from myself if needed. Your recorded scenes will be sent to you within the following days to use as you wish.

Tape Punching session: £60
Great if you are preparing for a self tape. Should you wish to work on one, on one, or both days, you can. The same applies to you should you wish to be given a scene.

Role Power Building
Your scene will have been sent to you and your partner the previous week. You will rehearse with your scene partner for a good few hours (5 or 6, you’ll be surprised how time flies). We will take an in-depth look the scene in this class using the ‘Ivana Chubbuck’ as the basis for the understanding, constructing and empowering of you in the role prepared.

Role Conditioning
We will look at the reworking of your scene. You would have met up to rehearse with your scene partner again, applying the notes and exercises presented in the previous class. Here we may also look at details such as inducing extreme emotional and intoxicated states, sometimes needed when playing parts and self tapes together with many other exercises and practices to grow and deepen your skill sets.

Role Conditioning session: £60
If you can’t commit to both weeks, you still have the opportunity to do a monologue during one week due to the shorter time preparation needed. A monologue can also be chose over the 2 weeks should you not be able to meet with a partner to rehearse.
